We are living in an era where #MeToo movement is all the rage, where women are no longer dormant and demand equality in everything. Sophie Turner, whom you may know as Sansa Stark, definitely agrees with this notion and has been very outspoken about it.

However, she is absolutely fine with her co-star Kit Harington- who plays the role of her brother, Jon Snow, the King of North- getting a heavier paycheck than hers.

Back home in India, actresses like Deepika and Kangana are earning more than their male counterparts and will not back down whatsoever, which we think is completely well-deserved. Recently, actress Kangana Ranaut was in the news for allegedly quoting Rs. 24 Crores as her fee for the Jayalalitha Biopic.

Sophie Turner being ‘OK’ with this wage gap might seem strange, but the actress has definitely made it easier to digest with her words. The 23-year-old Game of Thrones star told Harper’s Bazaar UK, “Kit got more money than me, but he had a bigger storyline. And for the last series, he had something crazy like 70-night shoots, and I didn’t have that many, I was like, ‘You know what… you keep that money.’”

Hmm. Well, with crazy work hours like that, we think any actor, regardless of gender, must get the much-deserved pay. Don’t you think so?

Demanding equal pay is ‘a little tricky’, Turner told the magazine. The actress expressed her excitement to see women in the camera departments, producing and directing. According to her, what’s more important is that people are readily having these pay conversations. Her words were, “Executives are more willing to listen to people saying, ‘I want the same amount of money.’ So things are getting done, but it will take a while, I think.”
